Russian Wooden Houses

I am a photographer/ poet from Dumfries in South West Scotland. I concentrate on minimalist images and prefer using an iPhone these days. As far as my writing is concerned, I usually write short poems (some in Scots dialect), hence my interest in haiku and related forms.

These are wonderful photographs, bringing to mind the Russian fairy tales my dad read to me when I was a little. (I was looking for Baba Yaga’s hut on chicken legs. :))

These were taken on a magical trip in 2018. Amazing architecture.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen photographs of that architecture before.

Fabulous photos, Derek, and the colours are amazing. Like, Liz, they reminded me of old fairy stories.

I might have mucked about a wee bit with the colour, as is my want! Mind you, there was a spectacular thunder storm that day.

I too was having thoughts of the old Woodsman and Fairytales my childhood. Great images! Any thoughts about trying A B&W conversion on any of these? Especially the dark foreboding ones…

Hi, thanks for comments. I might try some B/W conversions and see what they’re like.If I like ’em, I’ll post ’em.

Glad I could help! I would suggest the top 3 first. Keep them dark and moody like an Ansel Adams landscape.
