Hi Liz, they are irds indeed. Magnificent creatures they are to, with a very haunting cry. I updated this post by including a photo of a kite. Also, do you mind if I asked a `question? ive played around with switching around the 2cnd and 3rd line of the haiku, what do you think? Derek
Thank you for including the photo of the kite. He is an impressive creature. I think I prefer the red kite as the second line. I read “wind farm above the turbines” as one phrase, which tripped me up. The other reason is that having the kite in the second line between the wind farm and the turbines conveys more of a sense of movement, both the kite’s and the turbines’.
