There’s a world to be glimpsed
through the gaps in this wall,
a field, gorse, a distant hill,
a slight sea, a rocky shore,
and there, above it all,
a sky-full of blue and cloud.

Here is a boundary, but only
in name, it is temporary.
All walls fall, in the end.
A north wind passes through,
gathers me, carries my breath,
from this field, to the next.

I am a photographer/ poet from Dumfries in South West Scotland. I concentrate on minimalist images and prefer using an iPhone these days. As far as my writing is concerned, I usually write short poems (some in Scots dialect), hence my interest in haiku and related forms.
