Sometimes, this troubled world can take our breath away, can be frozen and beautiful, where we can loose ourselves in the crisp and crunch of frost and footstep.
Yet, we know we are adrift in a brief, but welcome thaw, that beyond our icy forests, there is a deeper, cruel cold, where tears freeze for real and peace seems far away.
Still, there is the sun, flickering between the trees, re-kindling the hope that warmth may lie between the shadows, may be found beyond the corner of the path we all follow.
I am a photographer/ poet from Dumfries in South West Scotland. I concentrate on minimalist images and prefer using an iPhone these days. As far as my writing is concerned, I usually write short poems (some in Scots dialect), hence my interest in haiku and related forms.
Such a beautiful poem and photos to match. Thank you, Derek!
