I am a photographer/ poet from Dumfries in South West Scotland. I concentrate on minimalist images and prefer using an iPhone these days. As far as my writing is concerned, I usually write short poems (some in Scots dialect), hence my interest in haiku and related forms. View all posts by photos, poetry and haiku by Derek Ross
❤ love them! Something about the patina of doors makes me happy. I thoroughly enjoyed these photos. Great share👍😊

These are great, Derek. I love the second last one – could stare at that for hours and see all sorts of things – and things staring back at me. What is that reddish thing in the middle of the window frame?

Hi Mary, that red thing is a gear/gog thinymabob! It’s taken at Duncow Mill, so must be to do with the mechanical workings. 🤗

Ah, thanks for that technically sufficient explanation. Looks like an angry red hedgehog 🙂 Or a landmine.

Very cool – looks like something out of a fantasy or mystery book!
