AWAKENING
Stars fell upon our eyes
As we lifted our gaze
And wondered
As the World revolved.
We listened to the truth
Of an unseen stream
As it rattled
Its way to the sea.
We touched the darkness
In all its comfort
As it wrapped itself
Around our footsteps.
And hovering there
That green smell of life
Sweet as ever
Strong as always.
We could taste it then
Savour where we were
Then the light came
In its own slow way.
Deep in the woods
A bird sang, the day
Opened its eyes
And began again.

Thanks Liz, with everything that’s going on, it helps to get out to nature to get things in perspective!

You’re welcome, Derek. I feel the same way about needing to get out in nature to regain my equilibrium.
